00. CLIMBING CLOUDS DOWNWARDS
[7ch / general]
Occasionally updated. Collection of one-shots.

01. LEGENDARY THORN *
[2ch / fantasy-supernatural / M]
Status: on-going. [Its 4th draft is being written.]
Summary: An otherworldly bond has pushed Char into the human world...only to yank her back 16 years later. She runs away from the role of heiress, ending up in Diarjole - the wild lands, alone in a bandit encampment. In the end, the bond brought them together, but will it also tear them apart from the inside out? Her people, the spirians, have other plans; and so do many others... [Crappy summary will be changed and tidied soon. I swear. -_-"]
Additional notes: future chapters may contain - rape, slash relationships, etc.

Exerpt: Char would never sacrifice herself for them. Those damned and damning souls . . . The chambers were just like she'd remembered them from the other vague, lucid dreams. Sombre. Alluring. Yet there was nothing compelling about the grimly, dirty walls and the promising odor of decay. The ground felt sandy and crusty with tiny pebbles, yet it didn't hurt her bare feet. Her lashes drifted down, dark eyes watching the white dress flutter in the breeze of the void. She should have been cold, but she was unfeeling. Detached. Restless. Delirious. Lethargic. The haze wouldn't dissipate from her eyes. She saw the tunnel-like route before her in double vision, and light faded at the promising shadows of the gate that lay at the end. She knew. [ch1, intro]

02. THE DAYDREAM GENERATION
Status: hiatus. Intending to re-write someday, after I'm done with current projects.
Summary:
(Fun teenage story.)

-

03. A QUARTER TO DAWN
[21ch / general-drama / T]
Status: complete.
Summary
: Adopted too many times and has a thing for robbing people, at 17, she runs away from home again but bumps into a stranger and breaks his photocamera. He wants a photo session in exchange. She's not as innocent, and he's not as coward as they think.

Exerpt: I don’t know what happened. What I do remember, is what I felt. A strong rush of thrill, horror, excitement, confusion - you name it - to the head. But most importantly, to whatever was missing in my chest. Something was pushing into my back, it was… warm ground? Sensations like needles poked into my arms. I could still hear the echoes of shocked voices. Then, I knew what happened when the needles turned into fingertips, the warm ground turned into a chest and the echoes… they were words that still fell from his lips. [ch5]

04. PASSIONATE CRIMINALS
[5ch / supernatural-action / T]
Status: on-going.
Summary:
A prophecy brings five strange people together in what is called the Pentacle (and its five elements symbolizing each person):  a supposed criminal (spirit), a manipulative sociopath (fire), a genius scenester (air), a psychedelic nerd (water), and a quiet but intimidating college student (earth). The Spirit's task is no easy one, especially with his independent, lonesome ways, as he has to both find the other members and protect them, not to mention find the Sanctuaries to decipher the damn prophecy's Scriptures without getting killed (before a certain fiery-head kills him first, that is.)

Exerpt: Was that it? Had she lost her soul in the exchange of the sadistic, obsessive adoration of those dead fanatics? Those fanatics, such desire fermented their eyes . . . but for what? To chain her down with icy shackles just so she'd play the role of the stiff Goddess. How pretty she was . . . legs dangling over the edge of the church's rooftop. The chains jingled and crashed against the rotten wood of the building, as the tail of her long fiery dress curled around the cold chains. She was their doll, sitting on the throne of their garden. A garden that colorless flowers bloomed in. The fanatics were those flowers . . . with petals of passion, thorns of restrain and leaves of plastic. Her red hair was a crown of wires around her head. Her eyes, a genuine blaze. And the sight -- a show of private destiny. 'Is it red enough for you?' [ch3]

05. MAJESTIC ROMANTIC
[5ch / romance / K+]
Status: complete.
Summary:
Short, dark, sweet [more like lovey-dovey] love story. ,,It created a perfect symmetry, a side white, painted, uncovered, while the other was hidden with a black mask, save for his eye. Even as long black strands fell over his masked side, it was visible to me. His mask . . .''

Exerpt: As the sound of a harsh whisper slashed through the air, I continued watching him and him alone. His hair was indeed black and straight — it was beautifully long, reaching his chest, perhaps even longer if you’d count lingering strands. His face was deathly pale with white paint. Thick black eyeliner coated his dark eyes, and a design of swirls and curls could be seen beneath his right eye. His left side, however . . . strangely enough, I observed through the room of hollering fans that he had a mask etched to his face. The mask.

06. BLACK INK STROKES
[3ch / angst-romance / M]
Status: on-going.
Summary: One ruthless psychopathic killer and a gothic whore. The story of Chiaro and Tiege, and their way towards an obscene and sinful demise, together.
Additional notes: story will contain vulgar, explicit content. This is not a light story. You've been warned.

Exerpt: Unexpectedly, Chiaro whirled the woman around, crushing her flush against him. Their eyes, four centimeters apart, and their mouths, a mere breath away. Blue clashed with black, and electricity sizzled between the two. His mouth curled into pure male smugness. “I’m going to have a lot of fun with you,” he announced, breath stroking her lips, the tip of the weapon’s barrel feeling up the bending of her back, slowly, but with the predictable aggression of a self-declared narcissistic killer. The shotgun’s barrel trailed over the curve of her rear, Before pulling back, satisfied of her whorish attire – peculiarly adequate for his momentary satisfaction. [ch2]

07. CAPTURING INFINITY
Coming soon. The man-eating [and spitting] artist and love affairs.

08. N/A *
Coming soon. The empathic assassin and her mentor.

* Theoretically, LT is supposed to be part of a series called Orbus Alia Chronicles. Orbus Alia is the name of the [underworld], and LT is the first of the series. My 8th novel might follow up after LT's possible sequel as the 3rd novel of the series. It's undecided.

books & complaints [Jul. 3rd, 2008|01:23 pm]

[ | bored]

I absolutely abhor stories that involve the infuriatingly stereotypic (not to mention discriminating and old-fashioned) couple -- the Masculinus Ultimatus and the -- supposedly but so not -- brave, submissive, defiant (pssh!) Damsel A La Distresse. (Insert Gag.) An exquisite example of this is Sherrilyn Kenyon's Born of the Night from The League series. Or, either of her Dark Hunter series. 3-4 stories, okay, that's interesting really, but after a while it drives me into deadpan.

There's also Christine Feehan, whose Dark series are quite tasteful, but yes, once again the repetitiveness is there, as well as the incurably clingy Dominant-Submissive stereotype I've mentioned above.

Also, I'll mention another book. Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. Let me ask one question. What the hell is up with that book? It's alright. Rather mediocre, actually. It's not her talent that got it so popular (oh, by far) -- but the topic and theme of her book. I mean, what easy-to-satisfy generic teenage girl wouldn't imprint feral claws into said book and persist with exagerated insistency that it's the best book in the world? (...) The names are rather bland and cliche. Beautiful swan? I mean, come on. What, you like it? Fine, it's your right, I don't care, it's a free country. But I do believe she could've done something more productive with Bella's seemingly vacant personality (that's the reason why girls can relate to her -- because practically, she's empty shoes for the female reader to hop into).

Either way, I just don't find it fair that books such as Twilight (a mediocre novel) are stuffed on the same shelves the Harry Potter books are. I'd very much rather see a book such as Haunted by Annika von Holdt to shuffle on screen! That's quality material.

But who said life's fair? Bah.
